Thank you for choosing The Mermaid Effect Swim School.  It is my absolute pleasure to welcome your little swimmer and entire family to our program.  

My name is Cur’Shawn Womack and I have been passionately teaching children of all ages in the Greater Baton Rouge area how to swim and  for over 10 years. I am CPR certified and my specialties include working with children who are extremely afraid of the water and helping them see how fun the water can be. There’s no greater feeling than exposing a new swimmer to the water, and helping a child progress towards water safety and proficiency while building his or her SELF-CONFIDENCE!

Teaching is my passion, and when not in the pool you will find me at Capital Renaissance International School in Baton Rouge working with infant students in our Early Learning program. It is truly a blessing to watch my students learn and grow on a daily basis… and have lots of fun doing it. 

Whether it’s in a classroom or in a pool, I have fun and truly enjoy teaching, and therefore my students have the same attitude regarding learning. This has been the key to success as to why my swimmers learn so fast.

Besides being a full-time teacher and swim instructor, I am a proud MOM. My pride and joy is my 10 year old daughter, DeLayne, who has been a competent swimmer since the age of 2. She currently swims competitively on a Baton Rouge swim team and her growth as an athlete in the water continues to amaze me every day.

You will be amazed by the progress that your child will make within a few short weeks as a member of The Mermaid Effect program. I look forward to welcoming your little swimmer into the water.
